That word, Sustainability.

That word, Sustainability.

I’ll be honest—I’m not a fan of the word “sustainability”. It’s become so overused, especially in fashion, that it often feels like a term used to hide behind greenwashing. While it’s crucial for brands to consider their impact on both people and the planet, the word itself has lost some of its meaning in today’s world.
Now more than ever, I think new brands need to ask themselves: How can I create something that truly respects both the planet and the people involved?

What I love seeing is how more customers are becoming discerning, taking the time to learn about the brands they support, to understand their practices, stories, and the values of the founders behind them. In an industry dominated by mass production, knowing that a product is made specifically for you—tailored, original, and created on demand—is something rare and special, I think.

That’s why, although my approach to footwear might feel unconventional, it’s a model I hope we can inspire more of over time.

At SHE OFFICIEL, we believe sustainability is a way of life. Our shoes are handcrafted in small batches, produced only when you order them. This made-on-demand approach reduces waste, ensuring that every pair of shoes we create is made with intention, not excess. By eliminating the need for unsold stock, we avoid overproduction and minimize our environmental impact.
In a world where fast fashion dominates, we choose a slower, more thoughtful approach—one that values quality over quantity and creates footwear that feels personal, because it is. When you invest in a pair of our shoes, you're not just buying a product; you're supporting a sustainable future, one step at a time.

We’re far from perfect, but we’re committed to supporting this approach because we genuinely care, and it aligns with who we are as a brand. It just feels right.
